Neighborhoods at the Table

Forty-four neighborhood associations, one stronger city

July 17, 2026 by rauglothgor

Neighborhood organizations turn a citywide conversation into local action. They give residents a way to work together on the places they know best.

In 2018, Green Bay had 44 neighborhood associations. At that year’s State of the City, Jim recognized Astor as Neighborhood Association of the Year and thanked volunteers and organizers across the network. Astor’s work included a quarterly newsletter, resident communication, family events, and gatherings in the park.

That is the value of a neighborhood association: neighbors can identify what matters close to home, organize around it, and build connection through the practical work of a community. A strong city makes room for residents to be heard and gives that work the respect it deserves.
