How campaign website information is collected and used.
Friends of Jim Schmitt uses information submitted through this website to respond to you, operate campaign communications and volunteer activity, process contributions, and maintain campaign records.
Information you provide
When you request campaign updates or volunteer, the campaign may collect your name, email address, phone number, ZIP code, interests, and notes you choose to provide. When you contribute through Zeffy, Zeffy processes the payment and provides the campaign with contribution and donor information needed for receipts, reconciliation, and required campaign-finance records. Do not send payment-card or bank information by email or through volunteer forms.
How information is used
The campaign uses submitted information to respond to requests, send communications you agreed to receive, coordinate volunteers, process and reconcile contributions, prevent duplicate transactional messages, maintain campaign records, and protect the website.
Services supporting the website
The website is hosted on WordPress through GoDaddy and uses Fluent Forms and FluentCRM for forms and campaign contacts, FluentSMTP with Microsoft 365 for email delivery, Zeffy for online contributions, and Google Site Kit services including Analytics, Search Console, and PageSpeed Insights for aggregate website measurement, search visibility, and performance review. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy practices.
Email choices
Campaign news is sent through consented campaign lists. Campaign emails include an unsubscribe or preference-management option. Donation receipts and contribution thank-you messages are transactional and do not by themselves add a donor to a campaign marketing list. You may also ask the campaign to stop non-required communications by emailing contact@schmitt4mayor.com.
Retention and protection
The campaign limits access to its systems and keeps records for operational, security, accounting, and campaign-finance purposes. Some contribution records must be retained even after a person stops receiving campaign communications. No internet system can be guaranteed completely secure.

Schmitt Social Publisher
Friends of Jim Schmitt uses Schmitt Social Publisher to prepare and publish campaign content to the campaign’s Facebook Page. The tool is used only by authorized campaign staff and only after the campaign’s designated approver has approved the exact post and image.
Information processed
For this workflow, the campaign processes the name and email address of an authorized sender, the sender’s submitted description and image attachments, the approved post text and image, limited Facebook Page and publication information needed to confirm the correct Page and publication result, and the public-profile information automatically returned with the Meta authorization scope. The tool does not provide Facebook Login or public user accounts, and it is not used for advertising, fundraising, Instagram, Messenger, video, or audience analytics.
How information is used and retained
Original submissions remain in the campaign’s Gmail archive. Working copies of a submission, including downloaded images, prepared images, previews, and drafts, are removed seven days after the submission is published, rejected, expired, or fails. The campaign retains a minimal operational ledger containing message and file hashes, workflow status, approval and cleanup timestamps, the guidance revision, and any Facebook post URL. The ledger does not retain the full email body or working media after cleanup.
Service providers
The workflow uses the campaign’s email and Gmail archive, an AI service to help prepare content for staff review, Telegram for staff approval, and Meta to publish to the campaign’s Facebook Page. Those providers may process information as needed to provide their services under their own terms and privacy practices.
Questions or requests
Email contact@schmitt4mayor.com with questions or requests concerning information processed by Schmitt Social Publisher. The campaign will review requests in light of the information held, the purpose for which it is needed, and applicable record-retention obligations.
