Listening at Serenity House of Green Bay’s Gala

I attended the first annual gala fundraiser supporting Serenity House of Green Bay and heard emotional testimonials from people connected to the organization’s work.

What stood out most was the room itself: people gathered around tables, donated baskets lined up for the fundraiser, and speakers sharing why Serenity House matters to them. The submitted event notes described the stories as uplifting, and that matched the feeling in the room.

For me, nights like this are a reminder to keep listening to the people doing local work every day. Community support is not abstract. It shows up when neighbors take time to hear hard stories, support a local organization, and learn what help looks like close to home.
